Cloudy days

th-3.jpg

Cloudy days are a visual reminder of the veil in front of your eyes, or that which is keeping the false self engaged. Think right now, am I surround by false thoughts and impressions? Are they about myself, or the world around me?
Is that negativity live streaming in front of your eyes?
The uncleaned mind becomes filled with all the images, thoughts and feelings, amassed each day. This creates a cloud through which your perceptions and judgements must fight through, for you to see, reality that is… Without a meditation practice whether chanting or in silence, the clouds may never clear and sadly you may never even know they are there.
Today the clouds are your teacher. Are they easy to see through or dense and impenetrable?
Learn about the cloud in front of your eyes and then
learn how to move it.

Whose voice is that?

images.png

Most of us would venture to say we are in control of our lives but truth be told everyone is held hostage by the voice in their head. Unknowing to them they are lead around like a dog on a leash to feel certain things when certain things are said, to react a certain way when certain things happen. We may have a great sense of justice constantly correcting ourselves or others, but the nagging interior voice may be completely different making you feel bad about everything you do or don’t do, say or don’t say.

Even the most assured person you see is dealing with a voice that is trying to mess them up, trip them up and lead them astray. We come onto the planet innocent little children but soon we are overwhelmed with the truth of our situation, and innocence disappears as survival becomes the game. The voice in our head can be helpful giving us the support we need in a tight spot, but left to its own devices that voice would rather chase you down the road to negativity-ville.  “Shut up and keep your head down”, it says.

I started my spiritual path when my life just became to hard to handle on my own. I needed more than that voice telling me I was never going to make it, or be it, I was doomed for failure. The voice changes tone and frequency depending on how well you feel or how much you are serving your false self. You know this one, dressed for work, the voice, “you wearing that?” You work hard for a meeting or project and that voice,”this is not going to work” The voice when not in check is certainly checking us.

I have grown weary of a voice in my head that just reappeared. It’s the voice of fear, the one that comes just as you are moving in a new direction, establishing new habits or growth of any kind. It’s the voice that says, “who do you think you are?” A long time friend that bitch voice, always talking in my ear sometimes in the voice of husbands, parents, sisters, brothers, that voice can be any bodies voice but it is going after me, making me feel bad. As if my dreams aren’t good enough to follow, like I don’t have something to say, like my opinion doesn’t matter, that I am no body going no where, who do you think you are…

In spirituality you learn that to be a follower is not the answer, it’s a stepping stone to help establish new habits but you must be in control of your own life. The voice in your head was put there as a support system, “you go girl” but some where along the line that voice lost itself and began taking over and becoming a vehicle the darkness can use on every one of us, because we all have that voice, we hear that voice, we listen to that voice inside of us.

Stop doing it! Take control of it! That is what meditation is all about, learning how to quiet that voice, taking back control of the thinking mind and making it your servant rather than your master. You can use breathe work and counting, or chanting, to help control your thoughts. Just focus on your inhale and exhale until the voice quiets or come up with a short phrase and say it over and over, especially loud when the negative voice is doing its work. Over time you can learn to control it. It’s worth it, that voice is not the boss of you! You are the boss of that voice! And as you grow in spiritual strength that voice becomes the still quiet voice that has been there all along.

Birthdays

IMG_0132

I celebrated my birthday yesterday. Funny how people are about birthdays, for me, they have been just another day for years. That started in grade school because my birthday was right at the beginning of school. I always received school clothes for birthday presents, big surprise. It was an untimely birthday. But, all of that’s behind me now and still I wasn’t into celebrating my birthday.

Until yesterday that is. Yesterday I celebrated my birthday. Because recently my life has been hit with tragedy and loss, I needed to celebrate life. I lost my Dad, my baby grandson, and my eldest went back to jail. It was a hard patch and so close to my birthday. It felt strange but I felt I wanted to celebrate my birthday this year.

We need to celebrate life in whatever way we can because we never know when it’s the last time we will be with someone, or how far away from us our loved ones can go. Celebrating our birthdays gives us a marker to our lives and reminds that life is a gift. We have no idea what’s in store for any of us at any given time. Celebrating even through hard times helps to keep perspective about what’s important. Life is important.

Life is hard but it’s really not worth living without each other. Without celebration we will not mark our days and soon the days even out to a grey, then we live in a world devoid of passion. Celebrating our lives is working with the creative energy of God. It is being grateful and a birthday is something to be grateful for.

Every day that we reset our clock, to work on resonating with the highest vibration in meditation, it allows us the highest experiences and moves us towards our highest good. Celebrating birthdays, or any event allows the universe to deepen its work with us. We celebrate in recognition of the life we have been given and the blessings instilled in the lessons learned, paying it forward in our every thought, word and deed.

We celebrate to bring new life and new experiences to us. Life is a journey not a destination so we need to enjoy the ride even when it gets rough. Rough patches are the high sign, growth is ahead, and after celebrating the victory we get to celebrate peace.

Live your life, and celebrate its passages.

resetting the clock

IMG_0168

We humans are experiencing burn-out. Its hot, the world is on fire and it’s making everything difficult. Tempers are flaring with the temperature and without tending to ourselves we will get hot under the collar spewing the excess heat accumulated in our souls on everyone we meet. Like the trash can, we too need to be emptied and frankly it needs to be done everyday. It stinks when we don’t empty the kitchen trash it’s no different in the human vessel. Leave the trash of negativity inside the body and boy, the smell.

If we haven’t yet discovered the true reason to meditate, then we ourselves are not emptying the trash and are accumulating ideas and experiences that are sitting on top of each other. Sometimes this mishmash of thoughts and ideas just don’t gel and you have a stinky mess inside of you holding you down or back. We need to reset our clocks, clean out the trash, start with a fresh view of our life and what’s happening. Some many of us are stuck.

Stuck is not realistic, nor a place to stay. But we see it all of the time. I can’t leave my husband, my job needs me, my mom, my dad, my kids my dog, you name it and it’s the reason we must stay stuck, you know, for them. Being stuck is a famous trick of that being who hopes you will sit down in your misery and pick up your pointer finger looking for someone to blame.

So easy to blame someone, anyone, the times, the sky, my lunch, sorry baby its all designed as the lesson that will push you over the edge of blaming everything and back towards reason. We get stuck in old stuff and we fall as we refuse to get what we are here to learn. The rejection of our life lessons leads to the fall, off our rocker, out of reason, towards being a victim.

With a firm meditation practice and true spiritual belief, when you are falling, the hope is that you will reach for your tools, remember what you know, and at the very least, scream out for God. We must reset our own clock, fix our own issues, deal with ourselves, it is after all our life. In that moment of realizing just how much work it is to be you that needing to control everything and everyone around you will stop and you will get down to work.

The sunrise for me is the sign of see, its brand new day. It resets my clock. How do I hold on to my crap when the sun comes to burn the remnants of yesterday away, sweeping my mind of clutter making room for the potential of this new day. How does the sun get to work for us if we keep dragging yesterday into today?

Take responsibility for accepting the fact that yesterday is gone, this new sunrise is this fresh new day. Use the sunrise and turn your face towards it, let it pour its light into you. It’s no joke just how powerful keeping the image and feeling of the sun inside of you is. Its mighty that sun, and over time you will feel its mightiness. Remember, that which you constantly have on your mind will filter through your thoughts and move down into your reality. My life sucks, and so it does. Keep saying the sun shines in me and on me and it will.

The sun shines on us everyday, cloudy or not. Spend a few minutes with the early sun and use it to help let go of yesterday. Then be the presence of the sun for those around you, shine so great that they will not want to rehash their past with you. You will be the presence that makes them want to shine, telling good stories, uplifting stories.

Daily mediation will take whininess out of your life. The sun is not into whininess it shines to bright for that. If you want a life that is uplifting for yourself and others then pull that sun right down into your chest and imagine it sitting inside you shining on everyone. The moon comes and goes, it helps us maintain balance but to much and you can’t get yourself up and you may finds yourself down. The sun is uplifting all the way through the day. It’s setting energy  is also a powerful thing, think on it. It takes a long time for the sun light to be extinguished and the sky to get completely dark, it stays with us just being the boss of the dark.

Because truthfully the sun doesn’t set, we the Earth turn away from it. That sun is shining every minute of everyday for more years than any of us can imagine. The sun doesn’t darken or leave, we turn away from it. So reset your clock by facing the sunrise in the morning giving thanks for the life giving sun. Clean out your trash by meditating. Let the hot rays of the sun burn yesterday right out of you so today can be a new day, a great day, or at the very least a day you have your eyes wide open through it.

God bless the sun, and God bless you!

manifesting evidence

Unknown-1

Showing my students how each of us manifests evidence is one of the best teaching tools I know. It is hard to dispute what is right in front of you especially if it’s right under your nose. When we look with heart-felt eyes we can see the hand of God at work in our lives, even at the times when we thought God had given up on us. And when we are honest we know there were miraculous events that helped lead us to where we are today. There has been a steady stream of evidence of how we have manifested the present state of our circumstances. We can see the manifested evidence of our path represented through the state of our finances, our health and our ability to maintain healthy relationships. It is our karma as to whether the outcomes due to the state of our path is positive or negative.

When we walk our path with opened eyes we can see our lives as a serious of events meant to awaken us so that we can live life with consciousness. When we live life as a victim feeling punished by God or any force you have stepped away from the truth and its is a dark path of misery you are walking. Get back on the path of gratitude to the source of the gift of life and the light returns. You will again experience prosperity and health, in what ever manner it comes to you.

As students of the Divine Spiritual Wisdom, we follow the laws of the Universe to walk with the flow of life not while pushing against the tide. We walk a spiritual path that gives us the tools to traverse life and the wisdom to know it is our birthright and responsibility to live from the middle path, walking the path of neutrality, staying in the present moment. Manifesting evidence in your own life by thinking right, being right, speaking right, behaving right and acting right, allows you to become the role model of success within your family and peers. Life lived while maintaining peace, is a successful life, add prosperity and health and you are living the dream!

Understanding that life has its up and downs allows us to control what would otherwise look like an uncontrollable ride on a roller coaster. Understanding the universal laws and frankly keeping your head on straight will go a long way in creating peace in your life. While we may never know why certain events happen in our lives we can control how we react to them. 20/20 hind sight can later show you what looked like devastation was really the ground clearing for the best years of your life. You just never know! Overreaction just causes more karma and more bumps on the road. Teach yourself to go with the flow because frankly the flow is moving, not reacting, and we need to move to go beyond whatever is holding us back from our best self.

Work hard at living your best life being the best version of yourself. Be the manifested evidence that you can show others is the road to success. And then go get your shades because your life is about to get bright!

Difficult days

There is never going to be an early warning sign that big trouble is afoot. It will blindside you with its horror leaving you reeling with bruises all over your heart and soul. It is, I am sorry to say, a part of our growth and the forward push for a person on a spiritual path. To think that having God or spirit in your life will make life easier is like saying you can diet when there are no cookies in your house or people bringing them in. Life is not like that, we are to be challenged until we can withstand any and every horror coming our way. If we have not learned to live under pressure or learned how to stand up in life when everyone around us is sitting down, we have not done our job.

We are each charged with cultivating the strength we need to deal with the kind of pressure that exists in our world. Many people have stressful lives, I would venture to say most people have stressful lives, it’s how you handle it that counts. For me it has been the continual search for the ability to walk in faith. Holding onto the knowing that a higher power is at work and thank God for that. I can’t do it alone. I physically have to without family support I am alone, again a big why I have a spiritual path that allows me to have a spiritual community to lean on.

When I say I have God I mean I have a relationship with a higher power that through my work I have come to understand as a connection with a force moving through our world that is responding to me. My chanting practice allowed me to open that door, now I can experience what I believe to be the presence of God within me, my higher self, ok face it it’s a force or being more powerful that me and when I follow the directive of living in faith seeing with love even the horror of my life falls into perspective.

It is hard being human right now. I see horror everywhere. I want to fall on my knees and cry my eyes out for the pain and suffering that is getting ready to happen to people I love, people who have no idea that that was a plate glass they just walked into. In one minute your entire life can change forever and damage done that can’t be taken back.

We must cultivate a relationship with our souls, with our creator, we must for our own salvation. If we are to have peace, love and happiness, we must stand in our power, walk in faith and move through life with our hearts leading the way. We have to start, there is just to much pain…

Meditate more!

images-1

The path of the human is that of constant meditation. Whatever your mind is  focused on becomes your meditation. Focused on what you don’t have, focused on being to fat or thin, big or small, rich or poor, all of those thoughts become your meditation and your reality. The truth is we are all meditating all of the time. We either fill our heads with directed thoughts of positivity, healthy visualizations or we are drowning in our thoughts of lack, unhappiness and whose fault is this anyway. The smart person puts the words meditate more in to their brain and then uses their tools to direct their thoughts and at the very least learns to quiet the mind if for no other reason than to give ourselves a break from the running commentary going on in our heads.

Parmahansa Yogananda said that the best meditation was to keep the word God on the tip of your tongue, in your head repeat the word God over and over again, God God God God God, every second. He said that the word God is a word of high power and vibration and that through repeating the word we could bring this higher vibration into our selves. Resonating a higher vibration increases light into the physical vessel bringing vitality and prosperity. Now I tell that to people, eyes glass over, heard it a thousand times, be spiritual and something will happen. They turn and continue walking down their road of darkness and insecurity.

Meditate more! Our thoughts of lack and rehearsed pain growing stronger with each repetition create a wall in our minds, a wall of our own making. This wall makes sure our lives are full of lack and a repeat of the constant pain we keep rehearsing, keeping the light out and the darkness of ignorance in. Changing our thinking to include the repetition of a higher vibrating thought or word lifts us from the burrowed thought channels carved in our minds. We can create new pathways that lift our mood and change our lives. That’s right, just with the repetition of a word.

Meditate more! I talk to spiritual people all of the time. it becomes rote to say we mediate to become one with God and the world around us yet these same people who know better are playing the same sound track in their head not truly understanding what it is to be one with God. That sentence scares them this ultimate truth that we are one with God. Meditate more! Because it’s the truth our true and rightful journey is not towards some earthly goal, it is to know with certainty that we are walking in a vessel containing the original spark of light and life, that is God, it’s right their in your heart, really right now, it’s inside of you! Cool right!

Meditate more! Make your thinking world more of your friend. This was the intent of meditation to regain control of our mind. The brain we can see and chemically change with pills, but the mind is a wild animal that invades your world, never seen, constantly controlling you. Yet, through right meditation it can be tamed and can I hear an amen!

Meditate more using words of higher vibration, get weird about saying the word God, say love, say light, say Jesus, Buddha, find a word that works for you and try it for a few days and see if the constant repetition of a higher vibration word helps move your thinking to a more restful and peaceful state.

Change your life, Meditate more!

beauty is simplicity

IMG_1181

I got my butt out of bed and headed out my door down to the beach. It is such a joy to walk on the beach feeling the sand between my toes and laugh as the ocean spills its wave half way up my leg. I am sure I must look crazy as I am laughing to myself, talking to the birds, smiling at the children. My walking laughing meditation practice, simplicity!

So many people lose sight of the beauty surrounding them or get so caught up in the mundane business of running their lives they stop seeing the beauty that is all around. I see people so intent on their workout they have no idea how blessed they are to be walking, to be breathing, to be surrounded by the beauty of the ocean. Others have ear buds in their ears. What music has more effect on the soul as the sound of the ocean? We miss so much, so much, when we leave the beauty of the present moment lost in thoughts of; would of, could of, should of…

In the bible it says in Mathew …27“And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life? 28“And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin,29yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these.…

The beauty of truth is in its simplicity. We have made life something to conquer rather than live. We have made villains across the world over and we continually overlook the little guy in favor of power and greed. We forget so easily the wonder of our world and more importantly we forget that everything that is happening to us is a reflection of our own thoughts words and deeds. We have been given a great blessing to be alive and the ability to change everything about ourselves. We are alive, we are experiencing life, we are seeing things, doing things and walking on a planet that is serving us even as we continually treat it like our living room complete with maid service.

When each of us makes up our mind to let go of unrealistic goals for our body or mind and sit at the seat of our soul we will live the verses from Mathew fully present in the gift we are given. As we live in gratefulness of our lives and blessings we open space inside to receive even more. When we gracefully give of our blessings to those in need we are blessed again.

Living in simplicity, knowing our needs are met, and residing within our soul’s peaceful nature this will helps us understand that just ‘being’ will always ‘be’ enough. This is my yoga!

Blessings in spite of things.

My Dad once told me we never get things fixed in life, wise words. What we can do is realize we are on a journey called life and we are not here to fix ourselves into some kind of perfected set up. There is no; perfect job, place to live, perfect partner, kids, pets, teacher, preacher. Anything that is working right now may change just as you have gotten use to it. Kids first grade teacher a dream, second grade teacher a nightmare. Neighbors when you moved in, awesome, they move out, new ones move in, nightmare. Job is great until new boss, job sucks. It only takes one adjustment to throw your perfected thought into the nearest trashcan.

The list can go on of things that were ok for a while and become a nightmare at some point. It’s a drag for sure, favorite shirt gets a stain, favorite store closes, friends move away, on and on. Looked at now my Dads infernal obsession with Murphy’s law makes sense, ‘anything that can go wrong will’! Of course if you expect something to go wrong with every or even one aspect of your life, believe me it will, Murphy is cool like that.

But we all have heard by now thousands of times, everything is happening just as it will, there are no accidents, there is a purpose to everything. It’s easy to see that when we get hung up on some aspect of our life and start clinging to it that it can be the sign for the universe to step in with your next lesson. Life is about the journey and the climb out of ignorance. A walk we must take if we wish to grow away from the short sided vision we have of life.

You could say in the big picture every difficult thing that happens, every upheaval is meant to better align you with truth. It is meant to open your eyes to the reality of life. We are not here on Planet Earth for the long haul. This is a way station, a school for learning what you need to get where you desired to go as you move through your spiritual rise to greater consciousness. Every upset or set back must be used as a set up for what could be a climb on your ladder of consciousness. Far better to learn and rise than be pushed around by life unsure what you are doing or where you are going.

Either you are in charge of your world paying attention to the signs freely given to us or you are walking in the dark. When we fall prey to hardships and get negative about our circumstances we will find they are happy to oblige us with repeat performances until we get so tired of it we look for the door to change. This is when your spiritual practice becomes the answer. Never get bitter, look for what in your thinking has you trapped because truth is, if it weren’t for being forced to change most people wouldn’t change a thing and there is no growth without change. Look for the blessing in every minute because there is one.

What was once bitter can become sweet!

The retreat is over, now back to life.

IMG_1312

Spiritual yoga retreats are a blessing to attend. It’s a way to replenish the well nourishing our souls as we gather together in community. Being Los Cabos was a great treat as the beauty of the rising sun was a spiritual lesson onto its self. Each day we meditated as the sun came up yet each day the sunrise was different. No two mornings were the same yet the outcome was the bright light of the sun in the sky giving us our daytime. Each day we were there the structure was the same yet each day carried with it differences of consciousness and growth.

It is always amazing how people come together in community and we were their to support each other through the trainings. The days were long and packed with information, Divine Spiritual Wisdom, and before long we were doing our practice classes each supporting the other, it was amazing. I’ve been a long time teacher but others had never taught and how glorious to watch the growth, and the smiles of a job well done.

Some of us ended our training by attending a spiritual retreat with our teacher and we received an outpouring of teachings of the Divine Spiritual Wisdom so powerful that lives can be changed. We each see how when the wisdom is put to work it changes human lives we learn so we can share. So many of us are ready to move into higher realms of consciousness and as we rise we turn and lend our hand to the person behind us not yet ready to go, but certainly willing to grow.

We need to refresh ourselves. We need to be in community of like-minded people so we may be strengthened in our process of growth. It can be hard to do this work alone yet the work must be done on our own. How wonderful to have people around you who understand. But now we are done. Our wells have been filled, our eyes nourished by many sunrises, and hearts by all that we witnessed. And yes there was much humanness to be had. No spiritual retreat is finished until the lessons become real in our lives.

It’s great to be on retreat. It’s great to be in community. Now the real work begins as we integrate what happened. We must apply the teachings to our lives and the let the adjustments to our thinking take hold. When you cannot go out on retreat, set it up within your day. Spend time by yourself in meditation, without the noise of the world. Give yourself a break from your devises and social media to really feel yourself. Find a teacher, a class or a group you can be apart of something so that you may grow.

The entire point of growth is sharing what you learn, what you feel and how glorious it is when the spiritual light enters your heart. In the end we are all teachers of one type or another and we need all the teachers to teach humanity to move from the darkness. Uplift everyone, send light to our world and you will be a soldier of light. Frankly, right now we need all the light bearers we can get.

Reach out when you need to so someone can reach out to you when they are ready. We all need a little help every now and again. Put your wisdom to work for your self and for our world.
