Being real

Unknown.jpeg

As a woman with a mouth, meaning I say it like it is and I am not into sugaring coating things for the masses, if you don’t get it or like it, move on! The problem is trying to be a part of spiritual communities that pander to their community rather than teach, because 1) they don’t want to upset anyone with their beliefs, 2)they want your money they could careless what you think, 3) they have no real interest in your spiritual growth, at all. Pandering has never been beneficial to anyone or anything. Real change can only occur when pain does the driving. None of us wants to be uncomfortable, me least of all, but in the end pain is what moves humans from one state to the next. We need our spiritual communities to be better about teaching this.

Women right now as I see it, are more interested in looking good than sounding good, they would rather feel good but they don’t mean deep down inside, they mean lets have a glass of wine, so I can feel good. We are ignoring our power and subjecting ourselves to the new norm which is shut up, keep your moth closed and do what I say, oh thats the old way, never worked, never will. Real women are not told to shut up because who would walk up to that raging power and who has the courage… they don’t they aim guns, they wrap their hands around our throats, they threaten our existence. That is not keeping it real, thats showing how fear motivates being unreal.

We were meant to be real. We were each given a voice a point of view and the mental capacity to be all we desired to be. The world is a mental projection of our thoughts and feelings. If you feel bad about your life, chances are your life sucks, and sickness is looking for you in what ever way it can get to you. Do you remember when women, “went through the change” they spoke quietly of those women because it was like they were losing their minds. Did it ever occur to anyone maybe at the time of the change a woman has finally had about enough of the fricking weakness that is the leadership of our families and our world.

I am teaching my daughter how to be a powerful woman and what that means as a mother and partner. I am showing her the best I can that it is her energy field that holds her house together and helps her to understand her partner and her children. We have to be taught to listen to the wisdom that is in us, and hear the growing strength of our internal voice. For most women it’s the voice of their mother, holy shit, that is horrifying if the mother wasn’t able to mother, so then we must mother ourselves so we can mother our own children. We have to be real to our situation not dream of butterfly kisses, if you are down in the trenches like most of us there is not much sweet going on down there.

The strength of a woman is in her voice. The power of a woman is the light shining from herself like a shield, the love of a woman is in her eyes, sparkling when filled with love or dim when not. When we accept the norm of todays standard I find I am looking at women whose face registers nothing but the needle they worshiped for the God of youth, thats not keeping it real, thats selling yourself, please don’t give me that, we have the right to remain as young as possible in whatever way, nope “Don’t go gentle into that dark night” be real, being who you are makes you powerful, it is not how you look, nor has it ever been.

Those women who move through social situations based on looks are the ones who lose their shit mid 40’s, it is beyond they understanding that their power had nothing to do with how they look. It is and always has been dependent on the “who” you are and whether or not you are in touch with your source, are you? This is what the spiritual community was meant to fix. Becoming your best self, through the knowledge of that which is more powerful than you and then learning to hear the voice that loves you supports you and desires to lead you to success. Perfection is a process that goes on and on never finished so perfect yourself by staying real.

So again, whose voice are you listening to, and are you lowering your voice in order not to “upset” the status quo?

Are you being real? Be real in your grace!

Doing the great work

images

Most people have to have a job to get by but not every job we get paid for will be part of the great work we desire to do. A job can pay the bills but the great work is that which stirs our soul.

People lose their happiness when they forget that the 2 things sometimes are not the same. You may have a love of knitting but have to be a server to pay the bills. What’s important is knowing that what you do for money may not be what feeds your soul. That’s ok, we are big kids now and can make decisions that reflect that fact.

But just because we have jobs we “have ” to do doesn’t mean we should stop doing anything else. We have to maintain and continue to do our great work in order to stay happy. Paying the bills is responsible but a lack of creative expression in life is a life lived in black and white, no color at all. Our great work feeds the longing for life.

There is truthfully all kinds of great work. Because any work you do with love becomes great work. I think back to my Grandma getting up early to make the pies we wanted, no sweat for her to get up before the sun so we could have homemade pie for dessert. It was an easy sacrifice for her. Cooking was part of her great work. She did many things as part of her great work, which was to love and teach us unconditional love.

It’s important to the human that the work we do, be something that stirs the heart, we need that, to feel like our presence on this planet means something. When we feel like our work doesn’t count or that no one sees the importance of our work it hurts us. Beyond that is knowing that the work you do that feeds you, is something to have to do, were called to do, and it may be something that others around you will disapprove of. You must be ok with that as well.

So right now review your life. Is the thing you spend the most time doing part of your great work? Is the job you are doing to pay the bills killing your soul or have you reconciled yourself to knowing the sacrifice an artist makes to make art? Its important!

When you answer for this lifetime and the time you spent here you will have wanted to at least thought about it!

We as humans need to take responsibility for the time we spend, because our time is a gift. Also it’s important to remember that deep down inside of each of us is a link to the great work. A seed of something you wanted to pursue, to learn, a dream you have yet to follow. That’s why they say follow your dreams. It is key to figuring out your part of the great work.

So you may think you don’t know what you are called to do when in fact you have not spent enough time with yourself to know the answer. This is another reason a spiritual practice is important so the voice of your higher self can be in constant contact with you.

Imagine a world where everyone was fulfilled by the work they were doing. If more people were walking around fulfilled and excited about what they were doing it would change the face of the world. Every voice that is used in the way it was meant allows more and more people to feel free to use their voice and be who they were meant to be.

This is part of the great work as well, being who you are, who you really are. People get on me all of the time, you just are too spiritual, I can’t even imagine a world where every minute is not figuring out how to please God. Doing God’s work is the great work for me, it gives me pleasure and fills my life with meaning. I love it and when I can get someone to see the worth of their life and that the energy of creation and creator is within their reach…Aww my heart…

May you find your great work and may it feed your soul.

I’m fine

images

Don’t you get like that, just wishing people could see there is no real way you could be fine yet you are, fine, that is…just fine. After they ask you know they don’t really want to know if you are fine because they need you to be fine. So you are, just fine. But inside you are far from fine.

Then there are the others who when you look at them you can see the pressure and force they are using to keep up appearances, really you recognize the look of horror just behind their eyes…

“are you ok?”,

“no,umm yes, I’m fine.”

How is it we keep saying we are fine?

I see not fine when walking around and through groups of people. I see that look of things are not ok. It’s a stare of vacant eyes, a disconnect from reality because as you say are you ok, they come bouncing back into their bodies, yes, “I’m fine.”

No, you are not! It’s written on your face, this truth they themselves cannot see, they are not ok.

Our outsides need to match our insides, without that we become out of sync with ourselves.

Sometimes the one doing the asking, are you ok, was sent to help you. A Being put right in your path to assist you, sometimes with an encouraging word, sometimes with a, I know someone you can meet. But you turn them away with your unconscious I’m fine. We need to answer with consciousness when someone asks us, “Are you ok?”

It’s not that heroic to tell someone you are ok if there are tears in your eyes and you obviously need help. It’s not heroic to keep stuff so trapped inside of you it seeps out in not so awesome ways, if someone offers help, take it!!!!!!!

“I’m fine” said over and over when the opposite is true can be just a weakness of ego and a symptom of being a victim.

“I’m fine” said with determination works as a great spiritual tool especially when you realize you have lost your voice and strength, then you can work your self-power by seeing and believing, “I’m fine”, Right… fake it until you make it… new habits of positive self-talk indeed lift vibration bringing you in alignment with more positive things happening in your life. But you have to say it and mean it. Use it as a tool of self-growth and self-encouragement.

The minute your voice changes it into, I”M FINE or say it in a whine, is the minute the energy changes and it becomes ineffective and wrong. Try to be more real with your self and speak your truth. You will feel the strength of your true voice return.

Know that truly being fine is the goal. So be fine when you are fine, and be fine when you can be fine, fake being fine only when you know you are just experiencing a bump in the road, but don’t fake fine when you are far from being fine, that is not fine at all!

Well I did it! This is a picture of my book and chanting CD. It has been a long process and a sometimes painful and frustrating one but I did it. I went through the creative fire and was able to produce something that I hope will help many lives. This project pushed and pulled me through many emotional peaks and valleys but it also forced me to grow on so many levels and has become the foundational platform from which my next work will be created.

I’ve talked before about the book. It’s about my journey through a nearly 4 year illness and what I did to recover. The story is very important to me because at the time of my illness the doctors were never really able to determine what was wrong with me. I was very ill, in a great deal of pain, very weak unable to get out of bed. I ended up having about 6 surgeries and was in and out of the hospital a great deal. Not to mention that during the same time I was so ill my Grandmother dies, my Mom is diagnosed with stage 4 non-smokers lung cancer and she dies, soon followed by my husband leaving me. By the time I turn 50 I had pretty much had enough of life. But the spiritual fire that had been stoked by my long illness was still lit and the teacher I worked with while I was so sick told me I should write a book, so I did. And because of the energetic healing belief I have in the power of chanting, it made recording a chanting album next on the list.

I am as grateful to my teacher for helping me to recover from my illness as I am to his pushing me to finish and publish my book and for helping me get past the sheer terror of recording a CD. But I did it! I am so proud of what I did and that has been a bit tricky as well. Any time one of us steps forward we can find others milling around blocking our ability to pass, negative well wishers, jealous and stuck in their body of pain wanting to take everyone down with them. It makes celebrating your accomplishments feel like an exercise in self indulgence or something you wish to avoid.

But life is to be celebrated. Most people are genuinely happy for someone else’s accomplishments and successes. It helps us to remember that all things are possible and when we are willing to put in the work we too can make our dreams a reality. Celebrating a finished accomplishment is an important part of the cycle created when the idea was first born. Remember again that most people are filled with ideas, one after another of brilliant ideas, and not a lick of follow through. It takes work, and lots of perseverance to make something happen. You have to be willing to fail, and fail again, it can be humiliating but it’s movement, it’s action, it’s doing…it’s life.

We need to do creative work in what ever capacity it comes to us. Whether we are writers, painters, homemakers, landscape artists, people who like to color, being creative in whatever capacity allows the creative force of God to move through you. And really, let me tell you, when you are in that creative zone, in the fire, it is just like they say, time stops, nothing matters, just you and the work. You will feel God, even if it just feels like the best rush of good feelings you have ever felt. In allowing the flow of the creator to move through you is also to remember that creator also works through us and our creative endeavors become the teaching experience and tools used to push stories, and new information through the masses.

Sit in a Church with paintings of the stations of the Cross, watch the unfolding drama of the story of Christ and tell me you can not see what torture was at hand, what sacrifice was made. These paintings are a meditation on faith, without saying a word. In the creative flow of images and words, songs and chants is the ability to lift people, move people, inform people and offer a glimpse of the vast concept that is our creator. We must do our work in order that God may be heard through the masses, in voices that the masses understand. Each of us has a unique voice and way to tell a story that reaches every soul in a vastly different way. So we need everybody sharing so the wisdom may move to uplift our brothers and sisters. All of our voices together become a choir singing to God.
